Welcome to Ms. Atalla's Fifth Grade Class!

Welcome parents and students to our fifth grade class! This school year will bring many exciting adventures and new challenges. Fifth Grade is a very important year that aims to successfully prepare students for middle school.  Is is a transitional year during which students apply what they have learned in prior grade levels to more complex concepts. Fifth graders are expected to become more independent, self-reliant, and active learners. In this way, they develop leadership and study skills in preparation for secondary school.  These are great responsibilities that I hope you (the students) will embrace with integrity and confidence. I hope that you will come to our class ready to learn with an open mind and a determined heart.

Fifth grade is a significant and wonderful time in your life. You will experience an incredible amount of growth and have many opportunities of great accomplishments and success throughout the year. We will be working as a team to help ensure your continued growth at Vintage Magnet. We will work on time management, cooperative learning, developing and maintaining a strong work ethic, healthy habits, and strive to achieve your highest potential. In addition, you will be part of a group who will participate in many opportunities to be problem solvers!
